Nick Dwyer - MØXXE is pressing on with his own circumnavigation:

" Out of thin Air! "

Nick's current position is:

(Missing dates = No radio contact)

Tracker: Updated daily (normally)  HERE

12th November 2009 Just left Tonga on route New Zealand (ETA: 25th Nov)!

30th September 2009 . . . Now on route to Niue, then Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand

30th August 2009 . . . Arrived in Tahiti

27th August 09 . . . Spent a few days in one of the Polynesian Atoll's: Ahe. Now on route: Tahiti !

17th August 2009 . . . Nick is actually sailing accompanied by two other Yachts, both believed to be on-route to Samoa. However, they appear to be heading to French Polynesia . . . but who can blame them!

5th August 2009 . . . After 20 days in the Marquesas Islands, Nick is now on his way to Samoa. With a good blow, should take about a month to do the 2,000 Miles.

16th July 09 . . . Nick has now arrived in Nuku Hiva, Marquesas Islands after over 60 days at sea.

1st July . . . Having problems with low battery due to little wind for the Wind powered Generator. The radio is also playing up. Heat?

22nd June . . . Getting closer to Marquesas. If I get some wind, should be there in 3 weeks

In the main, radio conditions have improved but as Nick gets nearer to the Equator, he is plagued with lightning and static storms that can wipe out my signal but I copy him OK every day!

Monday 1st June 09 . . . The last few days Nick has really been struggling to hear what I'm saying, yet he is still just the same signal strength. I fear it will get even worse as he crosses the Equator. I'm trying to locate a cheap tri-band HF Beam Antenna. More power and a better antenna will solve the problem!

*26th May 09 . . . Only sailed 500 miles since leaving Panama. There's been little wind and the sea is flat. Only way to make any headway is to motor/sail

Nick left Panama 17th May 2009 and is on route to Marquesas (3,600 miles). He now for the first time has a working HF SSB Radio and we will try to keep in daily contact. The frequency used so far has been 14.310MHz SSB. For any relays in either direction, please email Steve/G4MJW. Land-based Radio Station information   HERE.
