My name is Harry van Soolen. My
sailing experience has been extensive. I am an ASA certified
sailor with experience of having sailed from Hawaii to
Rangiroa in the Pacific on a 53ft'r giving experience to storm
tactics out of Hawaii. I've sailed a 38ft Catamaran from
Luperon D.R. east against winds/waves etc. then down to
Bonaire. Hopefully this year I may sail the Cat from Trinidad,
(where it is on the hard at present), westward thru the Panama
Canal and not sure where from there. I've owned a 28ft Ericson
for many years which I sailed here and out of Seattle cruising
the San Juan Islands. At present I own a Merit25 that I race
here in the Great Salt Lake each year. I am a member of the
Great Salt Lake Yacht Club and we are considered the Saltiest
Sailors in the World. Yes I guess that I've been sailing most
of my life . . . from small dinghys to full-size oceangoing
