Welcome to the Around in Ten Challenge . . .
We challenge you to design/build a 10 foot (3mtr) microyacht and sail around the world. Take any route and as long as you like but you could end up having sailed the smallest boat around the world thus breaking the current record held by Serge Testa since 1987! Sail alongside a friend or with others. Why not set up a race between you? Sail nonstop? Develope the knowledge how to do it. It WILL be done. The first person to break the record will also pick up the AiT Trophy!
Alternatively, create your own challenge. This could be from San Francisco to Hawaii and back in a 10 footer. UK to Iceland in an inflatable 12ft sailboat. Across the Pacific in an 18ft Polynesian catamaran! The choice is yours. We would like to welcome new applicants, details of their craft, start/finish point, details of YOUR challenge, Remember, the AiT Challenge is open to ALL small sailboats of any hull configuration and sail type also. Monohull, Catamaran, Trimaran, Proa constructed from wood, GRP, CF, Inflatable, or? Chinese Junk, Bermudan, Lug, Batwing etc.
Of the Vendée Globe. the handyman escaping to his workshop or shed in the garden can only dream. With Around in Ten he can build and make his dreams become a reality!
Please read the huge amount of information contained in the forum postings. Please fully understand what AiT is all about before taking the plunge! Register YOUR challenge HERE

Mike Pollard has carefully prepared his 12ft Tinker Traveller inflatable boat and is ready to sail from the UK to Ireland (and back). Keeping an eye on the weather, Mike hopes to go within the next month:
Gilbert's boat "Skippy" is now completed and been in the water for the first time. Gilbert is doing a few minor modifications and “Fine tuning” before he tackles the Atlantic Ocean! Skippy boasts some clever and innovative ideas. Rack-and-Pinion steering and a " I " Beam RSJ keel !
